Jennifer Bowering Delisle is the author of The Bosun Chair (NeWest 2017), a lyric family memoir set in early twentieth century Newfoundland. Her poetry and prose have been published in magazines and anthologies across North America. She has a PhD in English from UBC, and is also the author of a scholarly monograph. She recently joined the board of NeWest Press, and can sometimes be found teaching creative writing at the U of A Faculty of Extension. She is currently working on a manuscript of lyric essays about family and motherhood. She lives in Edmonton on Treaty 6 territory with her husband and two young children.
Daniel G. Scott
is the current (5th) Artistic Director of the Planet Earth Poetry Reading Series. He has written in a variety of forms but poetry is his long-standing love. He has previously published gnarled love and terrains (with Ekstasis Editions), and black onion and two chapbooks: street signs and Interrupted (with Goldfinch Press) and pyramind and other dreams (Purple Wednesday Society). Random Excess (Ekstasis) is his latest book. He has individual poems in anthologies and chapbooks as well as numerous academic publications including journal articles and book chapters and, with Shannon McFerran, The Girls Diary Project (University of Victoria, 2013). He won a one-act playwriting competition in New Brunswick in 1984.
