Frances Boyle is an Ottawa writer, originally from Regina. She is
the author of one trade collection of poetry, Light-carved Passages from BuschekBooks, and a chapbook, Portal Stones, which wonthe Tree Reading Series chapbook contest. Her poems and short stories have appeared in literary magazines and anthologies in Canada and the U.S., including Fiddlehead, Grain, Room, The New Quarterly, Canthius, Vallum, Arc, Prairie Fire, CV2, ByWords, Flat Singles Press and Moonset. Other prizes she’s received include This Magazine’s Great Canadian Literary Hunt (first place for poetry and third place for fiction in the same year) and the Diana Brebner Prize. She is a member of Arc Poetry Magazine’s editorial board.
Monty Reid’s most recent books are Meditatio Placentae (Brick)
and Garden (Chaudiere), along with a variety of chapbooks from
small presses in Canada, Japan, England, France and the US. A
longtime resident of Alberta, where he won three Stephansson
awards for poetry, he now lives in Ottawa, where he is Managing
Editor of Arc Poetry Magazine and the Director at VerseFest,
Ottawa’s international poetry festival.
